Mariska Baaij
Mariska Baaij is a Senior Juvenile Court Judge at the Court of Justice, The Hague, as well as Chairperson of the Team of Juvenile Court Judges. She joined the Netherlands Helsinki Committee’s Supervisory Board in June 2023.
From 1987 until 2006, Mariska worked as a lawyer at leading Dutch international law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, focusing on employment law and litigation. She qualified as a judge at the District Court in The Hague in 2006. She became a Juvenile Judge in 2016.
Mariska Baaij holds several other board positions. She is Chairperson of the Board at Stichting Rusthof. From 2009 until 2019, she was also the (deputy) Chairperson of the Council of Discipline in The Hague, the Dutch disciplinary board for lawyers.
Mariska Baaij holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Leiden.
