New Edition of Democracy Drinks
Democracy Drinks: New Edition
The Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy, the Netherlands Helsinki Committee and The Hague Humanity Hub are delighted to announce a new edition of the Democracy Drinks. Join us on September 15, the International Day of Democracy, as we turn our focus to whistleblowing. Come along to discuss why it’s an important tool to protect human rights, fight corruption, and strengthen democracy.
The event will open with a speech by Mark Worth, the Executive Director of Whistleblowing International and of the European Center for Whistleblower Rights. In recent years, the topic has gained attention as the value of whistleblowing for democracy and human rights has increased. Whistleblowers can help not only to promote transparency and reduce corruption and unlawful or unethical activities. It can also make societies alert to practices that are unacceptable for democracy.
At this coming edition of Democracy Drinks, explore how these changes affect the work of the peace and justice ecosystem, network with organisations playing a role in determining the future of democracy, and come away with new connections, insights, and goals.
