A Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to Support a Victim Centered Approach in Trafficking Cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina
On the 3rd of July 2017 a closing conference of the 4 year project “Promoting a Victim Centred Approach in Trafficking Cases in Bosnia and Herzegovina” took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The closing ceremony was marked by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Public Institution Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of the Federation of BiH, the Public Institution Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of the Serb Republic in BiH, and the Studiecentrum Rechtspleging (the Dutch judicial training centre) from the Netherlands.
Several activities took place within the framework of the project, such as; monitoring court cases, organizing study-visits, and designing e-learning modules for the training centres. In addition, an informal network of judicial training academies, judges and prosecutors, as well as Trafficking in Human Beings experts, along with others involved in anti-trafficking work in BiH, was formed.
The training academies from the Netherlands and Bosnia and Herzegovina agreed that further cooperation is necessary and therefore the MoU between the participating institutions was signed.
